We’re putting together a free, short, bilingual play of two actors and four characters: Two young people from different cultures meet in Seoul. Sparks fly, but misunderstanding abounds and families clash. Are they doomed from the start? Don’t worry—no one dies, and there just may be a happy ending! A little fun twist on R&J because we love them, surely The Bard would understand.
Seeking actors:
Roles Romeo (Lead): Male, 18-25, Korean A young man who’s open-minded but also family-oriented. With many aspirations he struggles with the expectations from his family and the society.
Juliet (Lead): Female, 18-25, American An adventurous new college grad into K-pop and K-drama. Wide-eyed at her first time out of the country, she has a lot to learn about herself and the world.
One performance planned at a private home. This is a free theater project - no budget, no pay, no admission charge. No experience necessary, but enthusiasm a must. Should be relatively proficient with both English and Korean. We have a short rehearsal time and must put on the play by the end of January. 안녕하세요! 저희는 한국어와 영어로 연기하는 짧은 무료 연극을 기획 중에 있습니다. 스토리는 대략 이렇습니다. 서로 다른 문화권의 두 젊은이가 서울에서 만나 금세 사랑에 빠지지만 문화 차이로 오는 오해와 가족 간의 마찰에 부딪힙니다. 그럼 우울하고 불행한 이야기냐구요? 우리가 알고 있는 원작의 결말과 달리 다소 재미있게 각색하여 결국 해피엔딩이 될테니 걱정마세요! 우리는 두 매력적인 주인공 '로미오와 줄리엣' 모두를 사랑하니까요. 단언컨데 원작자도 이해하시리라 믿습니다.^^

K-pop과 K-drama에 빠진 모험심 넘치는 새내기 대학생. 처음 방문한 한국에서의 경험을 호기심있는 자세로 다가가는, 자신과 세상에 대해 배울 것이 앞으로 창창한 인물.
